Setting weekly availability
Each staff member has a weekly availability pattern — the days of the week they are normally available. Set this in the Add Staff or Edit Staff modal. The solver will not schedule someone on a day they are marked unavailable.
Availability exceptions
If a staff member is available on a day they normally are not — or unavailable on a day they usually are — you can handle this with an exception. When you drag a shift to an unavailable person, the editor prompts you to confirm the exception. Accepted exceptions apply to that specific date only.
How availability affects solving
The solver treats unavailability as a hard constraint — it will not assign someone to a shift on a day they cannot work. Manually accepted availability exceptions override this for the specific date.
