What is a shift template?

A shift template defines a repeating shift pattern — for example, Bar Open 12:00–18:00 or Kitchen Close 17:00–23:00. Templates belong to a role, so the solver knows which staff are eligible.

Creating a template

Open the Shifts panel from the top menu. Click Add shift, give it a name, select a role, and set the start and end times. You can also set different times for specific days of the week using per-day overrides.

Setting daily requirements

Each template has a count per day — how many people you need on that shift each day of the week. These counts drive what the solver tries to fill. If you need two bar staff on Friday but one on Tuesday, set those counts per day.

Per-day time overrides

If a shift runs at different times on different days, click the template to open it and set a time override for that day. The solver uses the overridden times when scheduling.
